The 2029 UCI Gravel World Championships will be held in Villars-sur-Ollon (Switzerland)

The UCI has confirmed that the 2029 Gravel World Championships will be held in the Swiss town of Villars-sur-Ollon.

Known for its long history in the UCI Gran Fondo World Series and its recent debut as host of the UCI Gravel World Series in 2024, Villars-sur-Ollon is increasingly establishing itself on the global map.

Located at an altitude of 1,250 metres and surrounded by mountains reaching heights of over 3,000 metres, Villars-sur-Ollon looks set to be a fairly tough course, ideal for riders with a more climbing profile.

Exact route details are yet to be confirmed, but there is expected to be a mix of flatter sections in the valley near the UCI headquarters (located at an altitude of 375 metres) and several climbs culminating at the Col de la Croix.

One way to explore the area for those interested is to participate in the UCI Gravel Suisse, which will be held on June 28.
